The ladies of Zeta Phi Beta sorority held their first fashion/talent show on Thursday, Oct. 13 in the Student Life Center. Adrienne Brent, a senior communications major and member of Zeta Phi Beta served as MC.
“Participation from students is greatly appreciated by me and the sorority,” said Brent about those who attended the event, where students were able to enjoy fashion and music from fellow classmates.
The show was divided into the usual scenes such as casual dress and business attire. In between the scenes, other various acts performed, such as a song from UTM football player Anthony Ivy. The most popular fashion scene appeared to be business attire with participants including Cardell Moore and Richard Dorsey, as well as Zeta Phi Beta sorority members Ebonie Reed and India Dean.
A definite crowd pleaser was an original dance performance by a female duo called V.I.P. Despite their best efforts, the winners for the evening were Brenae Davis, Shavonda Nathaniel, and Jason Holloway with their version of the song “The Way” by neo-soul singer Jill Scott.
D’ Anitra Reynolds, a senior education major from Dyersburg said, “I really liked the business scene because everyone was well put together. Phiquita’s suit was sharp.”
Brent said that students should continue to support their organization because they will go on to bring more activities to participate in.
