Bryan Winningham performed at his senior percussion recital at 8 p.m., March 23, in Harriet Fulton Theatre. The concert is a requirement for Music Education majors.
“I did anything I could to make this recital the best. I think I did very well. It was like taking a test. If you are prepared, you are not going to be nervous at all,” said performer Bryan Winningham, a senior Music Education major from Murfreesboro, Tenn.
He played six pieces, “Cello suite No. 1 in G Major,” “BWV 1007,” “Douze Edudes No. 5,” “Not for Rebecca,” “Canticle,” “Two Movements for Marimba” and “Florida Arclab.”
Winningham was musically expressive, as if he was reading poetry to the audience. The pieces were beautiful and impressed a lot of people.
He closed the concert by playing “Florida Arclab,” after which he received a standing ovation.
“Bryan had an excellent performance. His interpretation and execution of the musical literature was beautiful,” said Megan Hannan, a sophomore English major from Memphis, Tenn.
“Bryan is an excellent musician and performer. I really enjoyed his recital,” said Joanna Robbins, a junior in Music Education from Paris, Tenn.
