Two Pi Sigma Epsilon members from The University of Tennessee at Martin received scholarships at the Annual PSE Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio, April 8-13, 2003 and a third member placed as a finalist.

PSE Alumni Advisor, Brandy Chandler, a MBA graduate student from Union City, Tennessee, received the Mu Kappa Tau scholarship sponsored by PSE National Educational Foun-dation. This scholarship recognizes the outstanding academic achievements of members of Mu Kappa Tau, the National Marketing Honor Society.

Ten finalists were chosen throughout the country based on Pi Sigma Epsilon activities, career objectives, overall and major GPA, and campus/community activities. Each finalist was then required to attend the National Convention to interview with the Scholarship Committee. The award was presented during the 2003 Awards and Scholarships Banquet.

"I am honored to receive this award and proud to represent the University of Tennessee at Martin and my chapter [Delta Xi] at a National Level. I am thankful to the people on campus and in the community that supported our chapter and made the trip possible," said Chandler.

Chandler was also chosen as a Regional Director for the Pi Sigma Epsilon Alumni Association.

Amy Watson is the Vice President of Human Resources for PSE. She is a senior marketing student from Lynchburg, Tennessee, and also received a Mu Kappa Tau scholarship sponsored by the Mu Kappa Tau organization. This scholarship recognizes students for outstanding academic excellence in the field of marketing. Written entries are judged based on overall and major GPA, campus and community related activities and accomplishments, and educational goals. This award was presented during the 2003 Annual Business Meeting for Mu Kappa Tau. Watson plans to begin the MBA program at UTM in the near future.

"I am excited about the scholarship; I would like to thank PSE and other members at the University for this opportunity that was given to me and my fellow chapter members. The national convention gave me business experience in a variety of areas including direct sales and was the best learning experience I have been involved with," said Watson.

Carrie McCaskill, a senior marketing major from Moscow, Tennessee was also selected as a finalist for a PSE National Educational Foundation scholarship in her first full year as a member of Pi Sigma Epsilon. She is currently the Vice President of Administration for the local chapter.

McCaskill said, "National Convention was a great experience. Not only was I put into real-life situations, but I also learned how to deal with different obstacles that were presented. My time in Cincinnati will be remembered for a lifetime."

Pi Sigma Epsilon is the only national professional fraternity in marketing, sales management, and selling. PSE is open to all majors of all classifications.
