Too much of a good thing?

Typically, I would be the last to complain about time off. I tend to enjoy a carefree lifestyle devoid of any academic obligations.
Many of us tend to refer to the holidays as “that time we leave the ones we love to be with family.”
I’ll let you ponder that one for a moment.
It is my opinion that this break was much too long. Those of us seeking summer jobs would much rather have seen the time off added to the summer instead, giving us greater flexibility in applying for summer jobs.
Simply put, those two extra weeks in the summer could translate into more money to pay for school or other purposes.
While calendars are set years in advance, I urge the university to consider this argument when setting future schedules.
