Students arrested on drug charges

A UTM student was arrested March 14 on on multiple felony drug charges.
Members of the 27th Judicial Drug Task Force and Martin Police Department served a search warrant at an apartment at 117 Bo Drive and arrested both residents with possession of drugs.
Upon serving the search warrant, officers found marijuana cigarettes and a bag containing a green, leafy substance appearing to be marijuana in addition to several items used for indoor marijuana growing.
During the search, a drug dog alerted on a safe located in student Kyle Wisniewski’s room, and officers found a plastic bag containing a white chunky substance believed to be cocaine, a plastic bag containing a substance believed to be marijuana, 16 pills believed to be Darvocets and electronic scales.
Wisniewski was charged with possession of cocaine (Schedule II) with intent to resale, illegal posession of Darvocet (Schedule IV) with intent to resale, simple possession of marijuana (Schedule VI) and unlawful drug paraphernalia possession.
Wisniewski’s roommate was charged with simple possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.
Wisniewski, who was a starter on the Skyhawk football team, had been previously dismissed from the team. Wisniewski’s roommate’s status with the team has not been determined.
Both were arraigned in Weakley County General Sessions Court and are scheduled to appear for their preliminary hearing April 5.
