UTM freshman Dan Rebhan led the Skyhawk shooters with career-high scores in smallbore and air rifle this past weekend in the James Newkirk Invitational at Tennessee Tech in Cookeville.

Rebhan, from St. Louis, shot 1,154 in small bore. Stacy Loyd also turned in a career-high smallbore score (1,114).

Carson Kuehn shot 1,104 and Jaymi Collar led the team with 1,158. The Skyhawks finished with a smallbore score of 4,528.

Murray State won the smallbore with a 4,626, while Memphis was second with 4,548. Tennessee Tech was third with 4,557. In the air rifle competition, Rebhan shot a career-high 383 to lead the Skyhawks. Collar shot 381, while Loyd shot a 372. Matt Furr shot a 364 and the Skyhawks finished with 1,500 in the air rifle.

Murray State won the air rifle competition with 4,626, while Memphis was second with 1,537. Tennessee Tech was third with 1,518.

Jennie Fladebo and Stephanie Talgo competed as individuals in the air rifle competition. Fladebo shot 377, while Talgo shot 352.

"This was a good performance which we can build on going into our two big tournaments this week," said Bob Beard, Skyhawk rifle head coach.

The Skyhawks will host their annual tournament beginning Tuesday, Jan. 27. Shooters representing more than 10 schools and clubs will shoot through Sunday on campus.

The Skyhawks also will compete in this weekend's Roger Withrow Invitational at Murray State University.
