The movie opens with the Los Angeles Police Department’s S.W.A.T. unit in the midst of trying to prevent a fatal hostage situation at a bank, in which the robbers are fully armed with automatic assault weapons.
Jim Street (Colin Ferrell) argues with his partner Brian Gamble (Jeremy Renner) because they were ordered to hold their position, but Gamble insists on moving ahead, accidentally wounding a hostage.
This causes their police chief, who already has a beef with them, to threaten demotions which Street accepts while Gamble resigns.
After being demoted Jim Street is offered a chance to join a new L.A. Weapon and Tactic unit under the command of Dan "Hondo" Harrelson (Samuel L. Jackson) which he acccepted with no problem.
Other member of the cast include (Deacon"Deke" Kaye) LL Cool J, Chris Sanchez (Michelle Rodriguez), Micheal Boxer (Brian Van Holt), T.J. McCabe (Josh Charles) and Alex Montel (Olivier Martinez).
This is a very good cop movie that I was really impressed with, and would see again and recommend it to anyone that hasn't seen it.
