Reality television is a warped view of reality

If you turn on the television and do some casual channel surfing, you are sure to find one type of show for certain ‒ a reality show.

It seems like all producers and screen writers have their mental gears stuck on reality TV. I am a fan of some reality shows, but others seem to become more of an “air all of business on television so I can be famous” feel about them.

For instance, I became addicted to the VH1 reality show “The Flavor of Love.” How anyone could even consider Public Enemy rapper Flavor Flav attractive is beyond me, but I know I wasn’t the only student at home on Sunday nights waiting to catch a glimpse of the desperate antics done by the contestants. Viewer “favorite” on the show, Tiffany (a.k.a. New York) seemed to keep Flav under her spell while she caused others to lose their lunches by being a lovesick, obsessive wacko each week.

Even though she lost, she is trying to turn her luck around by petitioning to have her own reality TV show. That is absolutely ridiculous. Why on earth does she deserve her own show?

Flav and the winning contestant, Nicole (a.k.a. Hoopz) decided the timing was not right for their relationship so Flav will be at it again trying to find a “real” woman.

Just because you stick a camera in front of someone doesn’t mean they are going to be “real.” In this day, I guess some people are willing to take fame any way they can get it.
