This page is, and as long as I can help it, will always be a politics free zone. If you’re looking for my stance on the election and political crap, come find me and I’ll be more than happy to give you my thoughts. You probably won’t agree with them, but who cares. By the time this page gets printed, the election will be over an no ones thoughts will matter anymore...So, on to more important matters:
Several fall sports are wrapping up their seasons here soon. Soccer is done for the year. Better luck next season ladies. It’s hard not to see you all going to the tourney, but with the talent returing next year, I’m sure you all will be back on top soon. Volleyball wraps up their regular season against Southeastern Missouri on the 13th away. There’s still one more home game before that on the 9th. I suggest everyone come out and see the Skyhawks take on the Belmont Bruins and see who the big $500 winner is. There will also be other prizes given away at the game.
Speaking of home games, the football team has their last one this weekend against Eastern Kentucky. Last home game, despite the dismal crowd (and weather) the Skyhawks were able to pick up their second win of the season. Let’s try and get everyone out there and watch the Skyhawks try and improve upon the past two seasons’ 2-10 records.
On a housekeeping note: Sorry the Skyhawk of the week coverage has been limited the past few weeks. With it getting close to the end of seasons and there being more and more sports coverage, space on the sports pages has been somewhat sparse for non-game coverage. There have been people picked for the awards each week, and I am putting them on The Pacer website this week.
Until next time (and next season for some): GO SKYHAWKS!!!
