NPHC well-represented on campus

It has always been in my sights to constantly observe the greek life scene.

I’ve witnessed its highs and lows, and have formulated ideas and thoughts on how to improve the situation if I were greek, which doesn’t stop me from sharing my observations and predictions.

I want to rave about how our yearbook was thrown together. I feel that it didn’t bring justice to such an exciting year we had.

On the rope pull page, the record-setting Zeta Phi Betas were excluded from any pictures. I’ll just say it was the fact that the yearbook staff just threw it together.

I would have liked to see a page for NPHC fraternities. I flipped to the greek section, and noticed the exclusion of Omega Psi Phi, Phi Beta Sigma, and Kappa Alpha Psi, as well as Alpha Kappa Alpha.

Enough about the yearbook.

I would really like to commend Kappa Alpha Psi as they continued to impress me. The work quality and public image have greatly improved.

Zeta Phi Beta has implemented a talent show and invited the campus.

Delta Sigma Theta has been making sure its image on campus is good and has been providing a glimpse into their Delta-tude.

Omega Psi Phi has proven that there’s always a way to find the funk in crunk. Its members support other organizations with their involvement.

Alpha Kappa Alpha has shown pure grace and class on campus. You can find these ladies supporting all organizations, and constructing ways of letting this campus know that they are back with a vengeance.

Phi Beta Sigma continues to amaze me. These men produce some of the best artwork and strive to deliver entertainment and quality. They are out to prove why they are the best at all they do.

It is my dream to see our NPHC expand to include Alpha Phi Alpha and Sigma Gamma Rho. I hope that can become a reality.

I hope to see our greeks do less competing and more collaborating. Imagine what we can accomplish on this campus united as one.

My last comment is to all greeks: The NAACP has made it clear that we are an organization that is willing to support you in all that you do; however, it gets very irritating to see so many of you pass our booth in the UC or ignore us when we inquire about you supporting and joining our organization.

All that we ask is that you show us the same support that we provide to you.
