Every television season, many new shows that are introduced in the fall are canceled in a moments notice. As a result, major television networks have new shows they unveil in the middle of the fall season to pick up where a lacking television show left off.
NBC has a new television show called Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit Model Search, where twelve selected models will compete for a chance to appear in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition magazine and a million dollar contract from NEXT Model Management. The final two contestants will shoot photos for Sports Illustrated in an exotic location. After seeing the pictures, Americans will vote for a winner and the next swimsuit model.
Committed is also a new show on NBC. Committed is a new romantic comedy that follows the relationship of Nate and Marni, two extremely opposite people. Nate is a brilliant, fearful man that is full of phobias and Marni is an upbeat free spirit. Committed is centered around Nate and Marni, if they can last as a couple.
For people who like shows based around the paranormal, there’s Medium, a new show on NBC. Patricia Arquette plays Allison Dubois, a woman who begins to suspect that she’s able to talk to dead people and have dreams of the future. Dubois tries to convince people in the justice system that she can use her psychic abilities to help solve horrifying crimes.
What if mathematical equations could solve FBI cases? CBS has a show called Numb3rs that focuses around that concept. Charlie is a mathematical genius that helps the FBI solve various cases in the Los Angeles area. Numb3rs is inspired by actual events and shows how mathematics and investigation can provide surprising answers to mysterious criminal cases.
Since Martha Stewart is in jail, CBS decided to air a reality series to find someone to fill the void. Wickedly Perfect features 12 contestants that are creative around the house. The winner will be named the country’s new authority on home living. The winner will receive six appearances on The Early Show, a developmental deal for a television show, and a publishing deal with Atria Books.
The FOX network has a few new shows to strengthen their line up. Point Pleasant is about Christina Nickson who arrives in Point Pleasant, a small New Jersey town, and tries to find her mother. Christina realizes that she’s never known her real father, either. After digging further into Point Pleasant’s history, she finds out that her parents are a mortal woman and the Devil himself. Christina tries to repress the demon and his powers inside of her. FOX.com tells about Point Pleasant, “…The town of Point Pleasant becomes the ultimate battleground of good versus evil.”
Another show on FOX is Johnny Zero. Johnny Zero is an ex-bouncer who is just released from prison after four years. His parents are not talking to him and he lost his privileges to see his own son. With no money in his pocket and no where to stay, Johnny tries hard not to return to his corrupt buddies and his shady past. An FBI agent tricks him into working undercover to stop criminals just like himself in New York City. His knowledge of criminals helps him become effective in catching crooked thugs. All the while, Johnny works toward seeing his son again.
The television networks hope that these shows will boost their ratings. It’s up to the viewers to tune in and see just how good these shows will really be
