Art Majors must have exhibitions before graduation and are held at the end of the last semester of every art student’s college life.
Sara McKee, Ireys Baucum and Jason Elliot held their exhibitions in the Harriet Fulton Theatre on Mar. 22.
“With every piece that you see before you in this exhibit, I put serious thought, time and effort into it,” said exhibitor Sara McKee, a senior Graphic Design major from Dyersburg, Tenn. “To me, art is not only a past time or hobby. It is something I love. It is something that I have decided to dedicate the rest of my life to.”
“Art has always been a part of my life. I was exposed to all different types of art whenever we took a family vacation. It has helped to widen my perspective,” said exhibitor Ireys Baucum, a senior Graphic Design major from Memphis, Tenn. “I approach each project with a fresh attitude and let my creativity guide me in the direction that it will.”
“Graphic Design is more to me than page layout and web design. It’s been integral in helping me to do more of what I enjoy in digital photography,” said exhibitor Jason Elliot, a senior Graphic Design major from Dickson, Tenn. “This has spurred me on to grow as an artist and a graphic designer by mixing with my studio arts roots.”
