A Martin man was arrested on Saturday night by the Martin Police Department after he reportedly tried to sell at least three different kinds of illegal drugs to patrons of local bars frequented by college students.

A female patron of Dot’s Place III approached officers Larry Baker and David Bell on Saturday night and told them that a man had been inside both Dot’s Place III and Cadillacs trying to sell pills to people.

Officers Baker and Bell approached the man identified by the female patron while he was in Dot’s Place III.

The man was found to be Michael Antwine, 24, of Martin. Antwine was found to be in possession of a bottle containing several pills that he had no prescription for. The bottle contained 11 Xanax pills, four and one-half pills of Hydrocodine and two Valium pills.

Antwine was arrested on two charges of possession of Schedule IV drugs with the intent to resale and one charge of possession of Schedule II drugs with intent to resale.

Antwine, who was reported to still be in Weakley County Detention Center, was to be arraigned in the Weakley County General Sessions Court today.

Capt. Scott Robbins of Martin Police Department told The Pacer that it was very likely that Antwine was trying to sell the drugs to college students of UTM.
