Local bands provide entertainment for students, aide for tornado victims

If you are looking for something to do on Friday nights and you like good music, then you need to find out who is playing at The Stables in Martin.

The Stables, located at 230 North Lindell St, has been allowing local bands to come play their music for quite sometime. Usually the local bands are hardcore or metal, but they draw in a pretty good crowd.

On Friday, April 14, four different local bands played at The Stables. It was a free show, but donations were taken up for the victims of the recent tornadoes. The bands that played on Friday night were 6 Feet to Death, This Dying Age, Rights to Ruin, and Beneath Crimson Thoughts. You can check out any of these bands at MySpace.com and see where they are playing next. You can also check upcoming shows for local bands and other events in the area by going to http://events.myspace.com/.

These four bands all came with their own fan base and when they left they had a bigger fan base. The crowd seemed to really get into all of the music and enjoy themselves. People were jumping around and having a good time. Everyone seemed to hang out with friends and listen to some good music.

So if you are looking for somewhere to go on Friday nights and like music, stop by The Stables and see what you think about it. You can usually catch some great local talent there every weekend.
