A vehicle struck a UTM student as she was crossing University Street in front of the Gooch Hall Monday afternoon at 1:56 p.m.

Ji Yoon Kim was crossing the street in the crosswalk when a westbound 1988 Oldsmobile driven by 94 year-old Martin resident Paul Bynum struck her.

Kim suffered minor injuries and was transported to Volunteer Community Hospital, by a friend, to be checked for those injuries.

Bynum was cited by investigating officer Lieutenant Jason Arant for Failure to yield to a pedestrian.
