After the deadly storms that devastated parts or West Tennessee, some students may wish to volunteer to help with the clean-up process.
A good place to start would be to call the Obion/Weakley county chapter of the American Red Cross at 885-5113. Monetary donations can also be sent here at West Washington, Union City, Tenn. 38261. You may also call Wendell Jellison, the pastor at Former United Pentecostal Church, 225 Chester Street, Greenfield. His church is serving as a distribution center for nonperishable food items, toiletries, cleaning supplies, dog food, shovels, rakes and bottled water.
If you are going to be in Dyer County, then stop by the United Service Center in the Family Living Center at the Dyersburg Fairgrounds to volunteer at the service center there.
For general information or referral, call United Way of West Tennessee at 422-1816.
