For Evanescence fans, Christmas came early this year.

For those of you who are waiting for the follow-up to the band’s 2003 6x Platinum selling debut album Fallen---well, you still have to wait, but they are planning to release their next album sometime next year. In the meantime, however, you can whet your appetite with their new DVD, Anywhere But Home.

Anywhere But Home contains an entire set played at the Zenith in Paris.

It also has behind the scenes footage and all four of their music videos.

After blasting onto the stage with well-known songs like Haunted and Everybody’s Fool, Evanescence spices things up with their rendition of Korn’s Thoughtless. The next few are ones that only faithful fans of the band would recognize. Neither Farther Away nor Breathe No More are on the Fallen album, but both are fan favorites. They finally end it with hit singles My Immortal and Bring Me To Life, along with a few others off of the album.

The behind the scenes offer a glimpse into the life of this hardworking band while they were touring the U.S. with Seether. The blooper section shows lead singer Amy Lee having trouble taping an acceptance speech for an overseas award show, instrument mishaps and the infamous “prank night,” which always happens the last show of the concert. Another part showed the band doing things backstage and on the tour bus. You get to see the lead singer of Seether----who is currently dating Lee----attempt to sing Bring Me To Life at a karaoke party. You can also watch as they get pretty drunk, eat lots of McDonald’s and trash their dressing room.

The other part of their DVD consists of all four of their music videos: Bring Me To Life, My Immortal, Going Under and Everybody’s Fool.

Probably the best thing about the DVD is the audio CD that comes with it, containing all of the live songs off of the DVD as well as the previously unreleased track Missing. The song contains haunting music accompanied by Lee’s ethereal voice singing of being in love with someone who doesn’t return it.

While it’s not a new album with loads of new music to fall in love with, it gives us something to enjoy while waiting for the band’s new album. So enjoy, Evanescence fans. You may never have the opportunity of a free concert again!
