UTM lost a beloved member of its staff Tuesday afternoon as Mrs. Cathy Blackwell passed away at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.

Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church in Sidonia. Burial will be in Stewart Cemetary near Martin. Blackwell was born May 6, 1946 in Weakley County to Eula Mae Horn Rudd and the W.G. Rudd.

She is survived by her husband, John Blackwell; a son, Andy Blackwell; and her daughter, Molly Montgomery, all of Martin. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Jamison, Beth and Savannah Blackwell; and Iain Montgomery.

Blackwell had worked for UTM for over 20 years, most recently in the Testing Center in the Office of Student Academic Support. She is also a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.
